I like working titles to songs; sometimes I use them as a springboard for lyric-writing. “Radio Prohibidas” was the name Ryan gave this song, inspired by a sign he saw on the bus. I started writing way too literally about a world where communication has been banned. Fortunately I came to my senses and replaced that with vague, eerie phrases. About half of the lyrics came from a song I wrote years ago called “Start As You Mean To Go On”. I love the starkness of the track and the tribal feel. Ryan’s brother Tony is on backing vocals.
