I found the title for “Warholism (Is Polaroiding)” in a David Bowie book. David used this term to explain the essence of Andy Warhol’s art, and I thought it great, almost like a foreign language. I wrote the lyrics and melody while driving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to visit my cousins. Another song from Scott’s bag of tricks. Also influenced by Bowie, I wanted to write a song with one verse and one chorus that repeats itself, kind of like “Breaking Glass” on the Low album.

lyrics
Baby
How I’d love to see
How you’d look
As a red
Or blue
Or green
Screenprint
Oh!
To immortalize
Those bedroom eyes
All along the walls
Of a shopping mall
